VisionARi Kids - Privacy Policy for Schools and Educational Partners

Effective Date: 2025-06-01

Last updated: 2025-06-01

  1. Our Commitment to Student Privacy
Welcome to VisionARi Kids, an educational platform designed to empower students and support educators through immersive learning. This Privacy Policy outlines our data practices for our School and District Partners ("Schools"). Our business model is built on providing a service directly to Schools. We do not offer services directly to individual consumers, parents, or children. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all student data. We do not sell student data, we do not use it for commercial profiling, we do not use it for targeted advertising. Our collection and use of student information is solely for the purpose of providing and improving our educational services as contracted by the School.
  2. Our Role as a School Service Provider
VisionARi Kids operates as a service provider of learning material to schools and educational partners. We rely on the "school consent" exception under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This means the School provides consent for the collection of personal information from its students on behalf of parents. We require our School partners to provide appropriate notice to parents about their use of our services.
  3. What Information Do We Collect?
We collect only the information that is necessary to operate and improve our platform. This information falls into three categories:
    1. Information Provided by the School: To set up classrooms and student accounts, the School provides us with limited student rostering information, which may include:
      • Student's Full Name
      • School-Issued Student ID Number
      • Grade Level or Class Roster
      • School Name and District Information
      • Teacher and Administrator account information (Name, School Email)
    2. Information Collected for Use of the Service: As students interact with the VisionARi Kids platform, we collect the following types of information to provide the service and track educational progress:
      • Learning and Progress Data: This includes lessons completed, quiz scores, time spent on tasks, and other learning metrics generated during app use.
      • Voice and Audio Data: Our AI chat feature requires access to the device's microphone. We capture and process student voice recordings in real-time. This data is used solely to understand the student's query, provide an educational response, and assess learning. Audio snippets are de-identified and may be retained for a limited time for the sole purpose of improving our speech recognition and AI models.
      • LAR/XR Interaction Data: To enable our Augmented Reality features, the app requires access to the device's camera. The camera feed is processed in real-time to overlay digital content. We do not store or transmit any photos or videos from the student's physical environment.
      • Technical and Usage Data: We automatically collect device type, operating system, and anonymized crash reports to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
  4. How Do We Use This Information?
All data we collect is used strictly for educational purposes, at the direction of the School. These purposes include:
    • To Provide and Personalize the Service: To create student profiles, deliver lessons, and allow students to interact with the AI assistant.
    • To Provide Insights to Educators: To power the AI dashboard that summarizes learning metrics and key highlights, helping teachers and administrators monitor student progress and identify areas for support.
    • To Improve Our Platform: To analyze aggregated, de-identified data to enhance our educational content, AI models, and user experience.
    • To Provide Technical Support: To diagnose and resolve technical issues for teachers and students.
  5. What We Will NEVER Do:
    • We will never sell Student Personal Information.
    • We will never use Student Personal Information to serve targeted advertising.
    • We will never build commercial profiles of students for any purpose unrelated to their education.
    • We will never claim ownership of student data; it belongs to the student and is controlled by the School.
  6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We limit the disclosure of Student Personal Information to the following specific circumstances:
    • To the School: All student data is accessible to authorized teachers and administrators within the same School or District.
    • To Our Service Providers (Sub-processors): We may share information with a limited number of third-party service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting providers like AWS or Google Cloud, and AI LLM service providers like OpenAI, Google, or Microsoft). These providers’ privacy policies oblige them to protect the data, use it only for the services we request, and maintain strict confidentiality and security measures. A list of our sub-processors is available to our School partners upon request.
    • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, provided we notify the School before disclosure unless legally prohibited from doing so.
  7. Data Security and Retention
Security: We have implemented robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect student data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. Retention: We retain Student Personal Information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to the School, or as required by law. Upon termination of our agreement with a School, we will work with them to securely delete or de-identify all associated Student Personal Information from our systems in accordance with the terms of our contract.
  8. Parental Rights
Parents have the right to review their child's educational records. We are committed to supporting our School partners in this process. Parents should contact their child's School directly to review, modify, or request the deletion of their child's data. We will promptly assist the School with any such requests.
  9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify our primary School contacts via email or through our platform, providing a reasonable amount of time for them to review the changes.
